My first ride on a motorcycle happened in Tohmajärvi, East Finland in 1988. The bike belonged to my summer job friends brother. It was a Kawasaki Z650 in a wrecked condition, but I rode some 10 kms and enjoyed a lot. I got the idea for a world tour in summer 1990. From the very beginning I had the idea that Ill make it by motorcycle NOT by car although I didnt know anything about bikes. I kept the tour idea in my mind till the year 1994, when I started to improve my skills systematically for the tour: studying Spanish and French and reading things about other countries from internet.
